Competing has helped me become more well rounded and also shown me that you can truly accomplish anything you put your mind to, it’s not just a cliche!
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Bre! I am a 25 year old CrossFitting Accountant – which is probably a pretty rare combo! I live in Atlanta, GA and have been here my whole life. I train at CrossFit Identity near Emory University. I’m lucky enough to also get to coach the occasional class! After a few years in gymnastics, I started cheerleading and continued for 18 years through college at Georgia State University. As the captain for three years, I was able to lead our team to cheer our very first football game in school history, a memory I will never forget.
2. What’s a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me is full speed from start to finish. I start the day at 5:00 AM and train for a couple hours. I then head to my full-time accounting job all day before heading back the gym to train again. My typical weekday is literally workout, eat, work, eat, workout, eat, sleep – and I’m loving it! On the weekends, I can usually be found catching up with friends, recovering from the busy weeks, and more working out of course!
3. How did you get started on your current fitness journey?
I was in search of a new hobby during my last year of college. I’ve always been extremely competitive and active and knew I’d need something to fill the void once cheerleading ended. Luckily, a good friend of mine recommended CrossFit, and after watching the 2012 Games, I knew I had to give it a try!
4. What’s one goal you’re currently training for?
I’m training to hopefully someday qualify for the CrossFit Games!!
5. What’s one life goal you’re currently pursuing outside of fitness?
While also pursuing the Games, I am also hoping to advance my career by going back to school to get my MBA. I hope to begin studying for my CPA in the very near future as well.
6. What does it mean to you to Compete Every Day?
“Compete Every Day” to me means giving each day 100% by striving to be the best in everything that you do. Competing has helped me become more well rounded and also shown me that you can truly accomplish anything you put your mind to, it’s not just a cliche! There is nothing more rewarding than seeing all of your hard work pay off!
7. What/who do you compete for?
I compete every day to become the best version of myself. Competing has shown me new capabilities, confidence, passion, and dedication I never knew I had. I compete to prove limits don’t exist. This community is like no other and I feel blessed to be a part of it. I compete every day because there’s no better time than right now
