To me Compete Every Day means to always challenge yourself and take on whatever that day brings.
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Paula. I live and practically grew up in the DFW area. I’m a Graphic Designer, fitness enthusiast, and big foodie. I love food as much as working out. I played basketball all my life and I believe that was my gateway into the fitness world. It was a slow, but steady progression from middle school to now.
2. What’s a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me is waking up at 4am to go to the gym. I workout for about an hour and half and then head back home to get ready for work. After work I have dinner, play with our dog, then prepare for another full day. Weekends are a bit more laid back, but one constant thing is I always start off the day at the gym.
3. What’s one goal you’re currently training to accomplish this year?
One goal I’m trying to achieve before Dec. 31st is to be able to complete pull-ups without assistance, and lift my own weight in deadlifts and squats.
4. What’s one life goal you’re currently pursuing outside of fitness?
One life goal I’m currently pursuing is finding a career path that will allow me to do what I love everyday.
5. What does it mean to you to Compete Every Day?
To me Compete Every Day means to always challenge yourself and take on whatever that day brings.
6. What is one obstacle you’re proud you’ve overcome?
One obstacle I’m proud of for overcoming is being comfortable in the gym and having confidence in myself. Before I was used to doing workouts in the comforts of my own home. So working out in a public place with other people was sort of new a challenge for me.
7. What/who do you compete for?
I Compete to become a better me, to be able to live a full life, and to help others see that they too can achieve their goals.
